Artists from Islington Mill Art Academy designed a day of exploring art's value in our everyday lives.
How can we use art and creativity to live better?
SCHEDULE:
WORKSHOP 1 10.30am - 12.00pm:
Hanaa Cara & Niki Colclough led a practical workshop that encouraged participants to think about how we interact with the world and how we can bring more creativity into our everyday activities. The group were guided through new ways of looking at art, mindfulness & walking and making as an expression of feeling.
WORKSHOP 2 1.30pm - 3.30pm:
Artist film maker Donna Wood and art historian Sara Riccardi(Art Across)will guided the afternoon session through making your own video art, using ipads and digital cameras to film everyday objects, yourself or each other. Using the history of art as a vehicle to express yourself, explore ideas and to tell your own stories.
As inspiration for your video art we will look at the techniques that painters have used through the ages to tell their stories, by looking at examples of still life, portraiture and history painting. You will learn practical film making skills. All equipment provided.
